About Cabbie

Cabbie Monaco is not often described as a poet, at least not yet. People ask, "why write poetry?" People say, "No-one reads poetry". Cabbie replies, "I do".

In 1974 Cabbie's first successful poem was awarded 9 and a half out of ten by the English teacher Mrs. Pearson. Cabbie continues to rail against the deducted half mark for using an invented word, 'devish', meaning both 'devilish' and 'devious'.
